Moein Basiri

He made his love for Persepolis and Real Madrid eternal.

Moein Basiri, forever remembered, was a 21-year-old supporter of Persepolis Football Club who was killed by direct fire from repressive forces during the Iranian people’s national uprising against the Islamic Republic. The emblems of Persepolis and Real Madrid are engraved on his gravestone.
Moein was a psychology student at Shahre Qods University, and at the same time he also ran a barbershop. He was a devoted fan of both Real Madrid and Persepolis, and in the bio of his Instagram account he had written “Madridista” and “Red Army.”
Moein Basiri was born on December 25, 2004. On the evening of Thursday, January 8, 2026, he lost his life after being shot during the protests in Shahriar.
Both of Moein Basiri’s grandfathers were among the dead and wounded of the Iran-Iraq War.
For a more polished website version, I would render the last sentence like this instead:
Both of Moein Basiri’s grandfathers were among the casualties of the Iran-Iraq War.
Dad, we have no youth left; something has to happen for us to be set free
